“I am a Great Golf Instructor,” you may say. Or”I had been a Golf Pro for 13 years and I chased my game.” Or even”I’ve had a great deal of great golf training and reading material, and I have a whole lot of friends who play golf.” All these things make you feel good and proud of yourself, but what about your understanding of the subject matter or area? Do you have pride in what you do?
When you take pride in what you do you automatically raise your ability to your levels of excellence. That is because pride produces positive results. A Great Golf Instructor can produce favorable results in you by providing you with the knowledge of how to develop and implement a terrific golf swing.
Let’s look at a Good Golf Instructor in a different light. Say you’re in a driving range and are having trouble with your backswing. You turn to your Good Golf Instructor for Support. What do you believe he or she would do?
First, they would probably tell you that you have trouble making a straight back swing since your arm strength is inadequate. This Good Golf Instruction will probably suggest that you brace yourself up with a shoulder strap. Next, Good Golf Instruction would tell you that your grip is incorrect. (gripped at your fingers tips) If they told you this, Great Golf Education would then explain to you that the correct way to grip the club is to place your thumb on the shaft rather than on top of it. Last, Great Golf Education would probably tell you that you have an unnatural swing.
Does this imply that the Great Golf Instructor is incorrect? Absolutely not. He or she’s telling you what has been tried and tested over the years. This doesn’t mean that you’ve been doing it incorrectly all these years. The fact is, thousands upon thousands of professional golfers have been in the golf industry for over thirty-40 years. There’s absolutely not any reason that you should be excluded from this experience.
What’s missing in your game though? It is your mental conditioning. You might be a fantastic golfer with terrific golf instruction but if you have been swinging incorrectly for years, you haven’t improved much. You need to go back to the drawing board and do some serious work.
You can not expect your handicaps to improve simply because you took classes from an excellent facility. If the Great Golf Instructionary taught you in a costly golf academy, you should expect a greater than typical lesson rate. If the facility was rated by its customers, you would probably be more inclined to pay more for that sort of instruction. If you visit a poor facility, you won’t get nearly as good of a lesson rate.
If you are contemplating hiring a Great Golf Instructor, ask about their background. How many years of golfing education have they had? How many pupils have they trained? If they haven’t had many students in a while, that may be a negative signal. Request references and ask to see photographs of their last students. You want to be sure you are getting the best possible golf instruction.
Another thing you should look at is your lesson rate. Lesson rates can fluctuate considerably depending on the day of the week and even if it is a popular day of the week, there’ll always be people paying less than ideal rates. Paying more for a Great Golf Instructor doesn’t mean that you will get better training. If the facility is constantly struggling to fill places, that could indicate the instructors gross salary isn’t very high and they get fewer students per class.
Other factors you should look at include how long the golf academy has been around. If it has been around for a few decades, it is more likely to be an excellent place to learn from. The golf academy might have had difficulty in the past but it likely has a great staff and fantastic instructors. This is a huge indicator of a terrific institution and one that will help you develop into a better golfer in the future.
The last thing you need to look at is if the golf facility offers private lessons. If it only provides a couple of different swing techniques, instructors won’t need to travel and will have access to other great instructors from their daily journeys to other golf academies nearby. This allows them to teach more students per lesson and get better feedback from students about how they’re doing. You will have more chances to get better advice and greater expectations when you have access to great teachers rather than the average instructor.
