When you’re just beginning, you will need to find an internet golf school that can allow you to achieve your full potential, and reduce your handicap. First, when you see the experts on television, you will see them making some significant mistakes. You may not wind up making these errors, but the camera angles do make it seem like they are on their top form all the time. To begin, you want to get the best golf club in your bag that is most comfortable for you and your entire body.
Next, assess the shaft that connects to your palms. You will probably need to do a little finger bending to get the club closer to your thumb. Then, position your wrists so that they’re pointing down and away from the lower back. This helps keep the club lower to the floor and help you generate more energy when you swing.
Finally, check your grip with your left hand. Ensure that your pinky finger goes all the way down the shaft and then point it out. It’s better if the link points to the middle of your golf club, but you should be able to feel where it’s pointed. Ensure your wrists are pointing down and away from your lower back, and then move your wrists inward toward the ball as you swing your club down the ball flight.
When you are on top of your swing and approaching your ball, you will want to look at your setup position. If you’re an awkward or stiff set up position, your ball flight won’t be as accurate. Rotating your shoulders onto a clockwise motion will make more power, then rotating them on a counter-clockwise motion. This is an important lesson that will not only help you gain more distance but will also improve your golf game all around.
Lastly, you can improve your power by keeping your hands in constant contact with the club throughout your swing. When your hands are too far away from your body, this makes it difficult to stabilize your body and lose your footing. Also, attempting to strike the ball with a lot of your arm and shoulder will lead to inconsistent swings, causing you to wind up hitting more fade shots than longer golf shots.
Always practice with a friend, so that you can watch one another’s golf swing during each hole. When you watch other players’ golf swings, you’ll be able to pick out what you would like to do differently, in order to improve your own swing. As you practice, never forget to keep your head down, to focus on swinging the club, and to rotate your shoulders in opposite directions during your swing. By doing these simple techniques, you will be amazed at how quickly you improve. Also, remember not to rush your progress, or else you will end up overcompensating for the little benefit you get from your practice time.
